Tool
Compress
Shrink PDFs and images and see the size before and after.
Processed on your deviceYour files never leave your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Drop one or more PDFs or images.
- Your browser rewrites each file to make it smaller. Nothing is uploaded.
- See the size before and after, then download the file, or a ZIP when there are several.
Good to know: PDFs are saved again in a more compact way, which helps most on PDFs that were never optimised. Images are saved again at a lower quality: PNG and WebP become WebP, the rest become JPG.
Free limit
Each file counts as one conversion, so a batch of three files uses three. You get 5 every 30 minutes for free.
Questions and answers
How do I compress a file?
Drop PDFs or images and press Compress. You see the size before and after, then download the result.
How much smaller will it get?
It depends on the file. Images often shrink a lot. PDFs shrink most when they were never optimised, and an already small PDF may not shrink at all.
Will I lose quality?
Images are saved again at quality 76 for JPG and 74 for WebP, which is hard to see on screen but not lossless. PNG and WebP images come out as WebP. PDF content is not changed.
Does it count against the free limit?
Each file counts as one conversion, so a batch of three files uses three of your free conversions.
